This piece is called “The Power Of True Desire”.

It is about the power of tuning into what we are really here for.

We all have powerful longings buried deep in our beings. Its rare that we give them room for expression. All too often we repress them, or deny them, or cover over them with layer after layer of “one day… maybe.”

These desires remain. They are a gift. Wether you want to pick up a guitair and play, have children, or save the world. They are there, they speak to you. One way or another, they will need expression. Often as we express them we are surprised with the results. We end up in a place we didn’t expect. We grapple with ourselves, and our excuses, our pains, and, by staying focused on the voice inside, find a place of beauty…. Eventually.

These desires exert power over us with the certainty of a gravitational pull. Within them are all the wisdom you need to get to where you need to be.

And yes, it doesn’t always work out. It can be difficult, But that’s ok.

In this piece, the figure has given itself over fully to its hearts desires, represented by the band of white at the bottom of the piece.

It’s a scary, vulnerable place to be. It takes total courage to commit to the desire we know have come form our highest aspirations, from the still small voice inside.

I hope it inspires you to find the courage to listen to the still, small, voice of truth inside you.
